i know i am probably gonna get flamed but i have some dumb questions that maybe you know the answer to

1. why hasn't anyone built a gatling shotgun? seems like it would be easy to do, and rem 870's are pretty cheap donor guns

2. why can't steel cases be reloaded? i don't reload, maybe someday ill start but as long as im pickng up brass why not pick up steel too?

3. why doesn't rain destabilize a bullet? i know that supposedly the bullet moves so fast that the rain is pushed out of the way, but what if the rain was exactly in front of the bullet?

4. i had a chance to shoot some .30-06 AP, the penetrators would punch through 5/8" steel plate about half the time. would that be enough to punch through a kevlar vest with a trauma plate?

answers appreciated

Just a observation,..

The steel cases are thinner and are more likely subject to case head separations or splitting on a reload,

Next,. if the cases were thicker,. they would be less likely to seal the chamber when firing and thus,. you get chamber leakage rearward,. endangering the shooter,

They are laquered on the outside,. that too was damaged during firing and would have to be reapplied or risk stuck cases.

And they are probably berdan primed to make it harder to reload

They arent worth picking up coz they are probably more of a steel alloy as opposed to a real solid steel.. I don't know if the recycler would take them.

I could be wrong on any of these..

I would think that a gatling shotgun would be simple, if using a semiauto shotgun. With a pump, you have a whole other process, to rack the slide after every shot. The loading could be like the drum used on the saiga shotgun, I'm sure a large drum could be made for them.

Depends on what the trauma plate is made from?
some of the new ceramic armer will stop .50 Cal ap
I would not have believed it but I saw it dune. It is directional though
We place the same ceramic plate backwards and a .22lr would shatter it
really amazing stuff.

ala th e10-22 and the ak "gatlin" kits

hmmm on that level i would end up using the saigas instead. i think that someone was even setting up like 25 round drum mags for them that look like the beta mags.
