Has anyone ever used a suppressor with a 1919a4? I know it wouldn't look stock, but I've seen some .308 suppressors that seem to do an amazing job.

Would a can work on a .308? I'm guessing there isn't much you can do to keep the ammo from going supersonic.

No me, just saying I would be interested if anyone out there wants to do a production run. 'course $200 fun fee makes 'em rather pricey.

What would be cool is a set up like a mp5sd where the whole barrel and shoud is the suppressor this would req. a sbr as well cause the barrel would be less than 16" I think.

i've seen some the articles on the suppressed .50 cal and they claim they can significantly reduce the noise and the muzzle flash but these were long (i'm guessing 18") cans and they were using them on bolt action .50's

the problem i see would be keeping the thing clean enough to function if you're dumping ammo through it.

I've seen supressors rated for full auto .22, which is supposedly the dirties stuff out there. Plus, didn't the vickers or something have one?

Sometimes it just frustrates the hell out of me that I can't wander out to the garage and see what works.

The biggest issue would be keeping the barrel bore in line with the bore of the can. There is a reason that most suppressors mount directly to the barrel! With the 1919 the barrel reciprocates and doesn't necessarily return to the same index point every time. As the booster carbons up the barrel could change locations even more so your problem may be compounded. Baffle strikes are bad JuJu and it would be tough to prevent on this type of system.

Mouse is correct, but in addition to that you have to consider the heat. Most suppressors are not made to handle extended fire and I think you would have a number of other factors that could cause it to fail.
