Well guys, here you have it. The beginning of my NY legal Pirate plinker carbine. I finally found a use for those AK grips that I had to replace due to 922 compliance issues. The Safety is all boogered up and got drilled crooked and I might just play without it, but other than that, the other issues seem pretty small. What you all think?

looks like your getting pretty close.

so what happened on your saftey?

if its not catching you just need to build up one side of it a little so that when you "roll it over" it will block it out.....

What happened was the stupidity monster joined forces with my cold medicine.....when I went to drill out the safety hole my drill bit wasnt sharp enough and pushed the inner trigger box inward instead of drilling it. The metal got all pushed over. I tried to straighten it but it was already butchered. The resulting hole was all oblong. I squeezed it all together and welded up the hole and attempted to drill a second time but the hole is still crooked. The safety is now canted about 7 degrees and is very hard to manipilate. Operator error and it looks like crap. Im thinking about putting plates over the holes and running either a straight blocking bar or no safety at all. Argh. Hoping the forward pistol grip takes away from the big nasty hole......
