The reason i brought this up on the Iacocca thread is this.
Shortly after the Court heard the case on the DC gun ban ,Two of the Justices who wished to remain anonymous spoke out in privet ,they did not compromise their oath in speaking about the case ,only how they felt about the 2nd Amendment,and how it relates to the Constitution.
Their job and existence is the Constitution,and how it relates to laws being passed in this country,or cases involving Constitutional law.
It isn't to them so much the right to bear arms ,it is the fact that this case has brought one of the top three Amendments before them for clarity.
In no way can they vote against this ,Judges on this court throughout the entire History of America have had to vote for this Amendment ,to do other wise would render the entire document into jeopardy.
The only way this could happen is if for some reason ,America ceases to be what Nation she is ,be it Revolution or Defeat to a Foreign power.
In that scenario ,then the Supreme Court would also be dismantled and no longer needed.
In ruling for the right to bear arms ,it will open a flood gate on cases involving other Constitutional abuse ,and one of them said we see many such cases that will be brought to us in that respect.
SCOTUS is the Spear head of the third Level of the US Government ,they cant be a bunch of cowards,nor afford the luxury of elected office.
The fear is : if SCOTUS votes for the 2nd ,and they will ,what if the politicians ignore the ruling ? and continue the course they have shown they wish to go.
It will force the Constitution back into the limelight ,and expose those who took the oath to uphold it ,and do not.
At that point America will have to look into the mirror ,and decide what and who she is ,and has become.
The 2nd Amendment isn't so much on trial here ,the entire Constitution ,Bill of Rights ,and everything this Country has ever stood for is on the block.
For SCOTUS to vote against the 2nd ,would compromise the reason the Court even exist ,and would forever ruin the Courts credibility.

Answer: You oust those politicians and put them in prison where they belong.....by whatever means necessary, ballot box, jury box or ammo box. It's not only our absolute right.....it's our duty as Americans to do so.
Its bad enough that politicians violate peoples rights in a questionable(to some) legal environment but when the SCOTUS has spoken and clarified the situation, the buck stops there.

SCOTUS is the only branch of the Government who knows it is bound by its oath of office.
If for some reason they tried to modify the intent of the 2nd ,then we could also do the same to the 1st and 3rd and that would be coming next.
Something to the effect of freedom of the press doesn't give you the right to report that a Senator was toe tapping in a rest room ,or that the President was having an affair in the oval office is no ones business.
Or freedom of Religion doesn't mean some religion that can be dangerous to the State.
After awhile the Gov. would just say its tired of modifying the Constitution and the fact it has to ,just shows it is an out dated document and cant be a guide or law for a Government in the 21st century.
How can the Government get us out of this mess if it has to follow something written by Farmers in the 1700?
Private gun ownership has only become a problem causing crime and paranoia.
The press needs only to report what it is allowed to report so people can stop living in fear over some fabricated story.
Only those Religions sanctioned by Government should be allowed to exist ,the way it is now we have two many cults springing up filling peoples heads full of lies and inciting rebellion.

I am very fascinated by this whole arguement and have read the questions asked by the Judges several times. These are not stupid people.
One of the more interesting questions was whether the right to keep and bear were two seperate rights.
I wish more folks would post more on all of this.
A decision is expected in June. It might take longer, it might not.
I can't wait to read it and the opinions.

SCOTUS is going to set a prescident in their decision in that they very well may state that the basic concept or "golden thread" that under girds-our nation is that an an individual is innocent until proven guilty; not as the flaming IRS claims, "guilty until you prove us wrong". This is the long way to getting to a point of mine that gradualism is a daily technique taught and used by communists ( as we were instructed by military schools ) to eliminate opposition to their plans. This gradualism can be by laws that infringe, as in DC, or operational practices, IRS, ATF, all Aalphabet Soupers, etc. who want certain ends and use gradualism and coercion to get their socialist / communist/ bureaucratic goals. If the SCOTUS holds the Constitution's validity, the prescident is set for undoing the damages done over the years to our God given rights. Overbore

Absolutely, a "stepping stone" or "doorway" to taking back what's rightfully ours, could be used as a tool to reverse 100 yrs of oppression.

The USSC can do wharever it wants. Look at all the unconstitutional laws that clearly the 10th Amendment(powers not given to the federal government are reserved for the states) prohibits the federal government from doing and reserves for the states to exercise certain powers! Look at abortion, they found a nonexistent right to privacy and extended their(federall government) powers again,it should be reserved solely for states to rule on! Affirmation action(no group rights are found in the constitution) is clearly discrimination based on whatever policy and group is out of favor! We are lucky we have some justices that follow the constitution instead of their opinions. Thurgood Marshall when asked about making things up instead of following the constitution said now it is our turn the other side has been doing it for years! Do not delude yourself into thinking that these people are honorable(Maybe 4 are always honorable and the rest do whatever they want). I do not want the justices to rule the way I want but rule on what the constitution says instead of citing some international or European school of thought!

Here we are again ,The BBC is watching what SCOTUS is going to do in the DC Gun Case, this is what they say.
Even us the Brits are saying this one thing will tell how strong the Constitution of the United States is.
At a time most Americans will go to vote in November for what they feel is an apathetic vote for a candidate not to far removed from the one from the other party.
At a time that most of Europe is booting out the Liberal party's that have ruled for decades ,America seems to be embracing them.
The world watches as we wait to see what the Validity of the American Constitution still is.
A document that has ruled the chosen path of this Nation for two century's.
A Democratic front runner refuses to even wear a flag lapel ,or swear allegiance to its flag.
The Republican ,has a long History of voting against what he knows the Country stands for.
Yet American Voters flock to their ranks like Mind Numb Lemmings.
Where is America today ? most of us would like to know ,The Democrat leader embraces Islam ,and the country's who support it ,leaving the rest of us wondering ,why people accept this man.
The republican is for opening Americas borders to thousands of undocumented ,uneducated ,people from a third world country into its already stressed welfare system.
My cousin across the seas ,have you lost your sense of reason ? your sense of direction? ,as we who live in Europe have for so long ?
And at the time we accept some of your principals because ours have failed ,you adopt the garbage we threw out !
Take down your statue of Liberty ,if you continue she no longer shines as a beacon of freedom.

For sometime now I have found the direction our government is taking to be very ironic. As much of the world is drifting toward democracy (with America waving the flag of freedom) America is sliding evermore into the darkness of socialism.

Even that new French President has made some comments about this election.
I don't see people making weird comments about the French anymore ,now that he is in office ,even Germany has a more Conservative leader now than what we will end up with.
France has done a lot to control its borders ,and is one of the few countries to ever reverse some gun control laws it felt were unfair to its citizens.
America is still the only major world power to not have legal reform ,that is why our lawyers are so out of control here.
And part of the reason our health care is so expensive.
For years the Gov. tried to get rid of the big SUV ,all of a sudden gas prices did the trick for them ,Gas prices have gone up all over the world ,but not as fast or as steep as they have here ???

Oh I'm seeing it brother, I talk to folks all over Europe, the old world is laughing at the path our last 75 yrs has taken us, they're changing their counterproductive course and wishing we would too.

Old timer here said it best, "It's like public bathing almost 100 yrs ago, nobody cared to change water, so every time you bathe, you're taking a bath in someone's ass water." I laughed the way he said it, and people went silent, he was right.
