Forgotten the few good places in Jackson. Hattiesburg has been hit or miss or miss over the years but if you like BBQ, check out Leatha's on 98W. Be sure to check out the museum on Camp Shelby.

Wm. T Sherman sacked the town twice in two weeks, I'd guess that's some sort of record.

Plenty to do on the coast. The best thing I can say about Jackson is that it looks good in the rearview mirror.

There is a sand pit just north of greens crossing road, past the golf course. You can twist your ankle real good there. J

If you're in Jackson, drive out to Vicksburg.

I lived in Hattiesburg briefly, but that's been almost 20 years ago. They had a small city zoo that was great for my then 3 year old. If you're into model railroading, there was a very well stocked model train store just North up 59 in Laurel. Someone already mentioned the museum at Camp Shelby. Other than that it's just a Mark 1, mod 0 college town.

Too funny I haven't heard that one in a couple years. I am going to meet a few board members while here so I am looking forward to that but so far not much else to do other than work.

That always reminds me of Ron White saying " I don't know how many of them it would take to kick my ass, but I knew how many they were fixin to use" "always a handy bit of information to have"

I would like to go to Jackson and teach the women what they don't know how. Like how to field strip a Browningg machine gun.

Camp Shelby has a great military museum, south of Hattiesburg . Also a short drive west from the Gulf Coast to New Orleans is the National WWII museum. To the east is Mobile AL, USS Alabama. Lots of casinos!
