...usable...?

Only parts usable are the legs,tripod head and the side plates. Everything else is scrap. Toolman might have the pintle that is able to be machined to work. Even the mounting fork has been de-milled. OMG...what a mess...!

Look at the Pluses though...early traverse knob and a partial leather leg strap! My first impressions of this one is that it looks like it was completely built out of modeling clay or its a life-size tripod for the green plastic army men. Even the legs look like they were sculpted from clay.

My, my. That is extremely sad. I am looking to see what parts would be worth the bother, at that price. I am not convinced that there is $700 worth of parts left in that, unless one really wants to have a difficult project to while the hours away. Yes, the gas bottle knob is salvageable, maybe the legs with data plate and hardware. But I can't help but wonder if there is a lot of Bondo or something under all that paint. Big gamble.

But best thing about this thread are Abominog's and Slowfire's comments. Classic, gentlemen! :rofl:
