I just walked in the door and my wife told me,, very sad about it. He was one of the good ones in my opinion. I think he was a fair thinking individual,, a truly good and caring person, family man. I feel for his family,, especially his Dad and Son. He will be missed on Sunday mornings. God Speed Little Russ,,
I'd hold off on digging out the aluminum foil for now,, he just got back from a long plane ride to Italy,, 58,, a bit over weight,, an office worker,, lots of strikes against him.
"After graduating from law school, Russert went into politics as a staff operative. In 1976, he worked on the Senate campaign of Daniel Patrick Moynihan, D-N.Y., and in 1982, he worked on Mario Cuomo’s campaign for governor of New York."
He worked for Cuomo after he became Governor! He was A DEMOCRATE! a MOLE in the media! gave the Dems Soft ball qusetions,
Sorry for his family but one less liberal mucking up the works.
Kabar,,, All true,,, I can't think of many talking heads that aren't Dems,, I just simply liked the guy,,, compaired to the circle jerk twins, Chris Wallace and Oberman (yeach), Tim Russert was a Conservative. Just liked the guy,,
Yup - I agree RR. He didn't always come across as fair, but sometimes it went the otherway too. I just plain liked him. Seemed like a straight-up decent guy on the media. Of coarse I never met him personally - can't attest to his real disposition.....
I was deeply moved to hear Tim (Timmy) had died so suddenly. My step sister used to work at NBC in NYC and Washington. Although she didn't work for "Meet The Press" she knew him as a "colleague," and held him in very high esteem. When her father, my step father died Tim showed up at his funeral to show his support to her and my family. We were all deeply touched that he would take time out to attend the funeral. I think the world was a better place with him in it. He was someone who really cared about people and this country.
