There is a group of Vickers parts on GB right now. Item # 896771906 that has a back plate with grips and trigger. Not my ad, just thought I'd pass it along to you

You can make a spanner using a steel bar and 3/32 hardened dowel pins. Another quick and dirty way is to unthread the caps except for 1.5 threads worth, cut a thin leather strip to fit under the cap lip to the handle, and use a small vise grips with the leather under it to unthread. Works in 90% of the guns I've refinished and won't leave a mark. The cap is left in to.prevent the tube from collapsing. Don't get too crazy on the pressure.

Three comments,
Use proper tool (see picture) or make one like Dennis says.
Use penetrating oil first
From the bottom, turn clockwise to unscrew. If you do it from the top side, turn counterclockwise.

I have been working on Vickers tool all evening, finally have time to put together my Gunners kit and pull duplicates for future sale.

Some stuff from my collection:

A little dirty but they should clean up fine.
