What do I put under/between top cover extractor spring, I have heard a penny washer, it seems that bolt my links and cloth belts are not feeding correctly, they do not get pushed in, or they get crooked in the feedway. Thanks, Jerod

just bend the extractor spring a bit by hand

your problem is most likely with too stiff of a belt holding pawl spring (the one on the trunnion that is held in place by the split pin)
its a pretty common problem - try searching for this on this forum

start by replacing that spring with one of much weaker rate and if that doesnt solve the problem, then come back and ask again

so do not put a washer or penny between top cover and spring, and just bend it by hand.
That's what I would recommend as well. B.A.R. gunner also brings up a nice point on the BHP spring. Century Spring #500 works perfectly. You can get a package of them at many hardware stores.
