Got this from the wife in an e-mail,,,

Wouldn't it be nice if this would work? There's no reason why it shouldn't work.
Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think?
While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors.
Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.
Well, duh.. Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter?

If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is.. do not wait for the government to act.

Just go ahead and assume control on your own.
THINK ABOUT THIS -

If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor fast!!
The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory.

The solution ?

Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4.
That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, June 4 to July 4.
EVEN BETTER - START NOW.

Send this to everybody you know.

Show them we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, America

I totally believe that we, as a nation, have committed economic suicide by jumping in bed with the Communists in China. In a mad rush to have cheap retail prices and higher profit margins in manufactured goods, we have fueled the Chinese econmomic explosion. To para-phrase another famous Communist, we are paying for the very rope which they will use to hang us.

I work for a company that makes industrial electric dewatering pumps. Our business is booming because our major customers are the coal mines. And with the price of oil up so much, coal is in big demand. The mines are very busy, and the deeper you go in the ground, the more water you deal with. Anyway, my bosses are all very rich men right now.

About half of the components of our pumps are made overseas, more and more in China. One of the bosses comes out to me and says that a stainless steel stud we have made in Texas went from $1.25 to $5 each. He said he is going to have the Chinese do it instead (for about .75). Well, considering it is the Chinese demand for fuel and materials that has driven the price up to $5, I found it ironic that we would send more work to them to help make the problem worse! Just a small example on how chasing the bottom line is helping to fuel our downfall!

Rant over!

Old hat for me. I have been avoiding the Chinese Scurge for many years.

Somebody needs to tell American companies to quit sending stuff over there
to be made "cheaper". That is the real problem, everyone is out for the
almighty $.

Sometimes it seems that the average American doesn't mind being screwed,
as long as they get their chance to screw somebody too!!

I believe that as long as you give, you will always have. Also, what ever happened to "paying it forward"?? Am I becoming an endangered Species??

Love America??.......Buy American!!

Well, probibly the 1st thing you'll find out when you start looking at where the things you want to buy are made is how LITTLE of anything avalible is made here. China is bad enough, but don't forget about India, Pakastan, Japan, etc..

If you were to stick to a STRICT buy USA..ONLY!!!!! policy, you might find you'll have a fair amount of extra money laying around..You'll be HARD PRESSED to find much made HERE to buy. Even our USA made cars ??? have a LOT of foreign parts in them.

Anybody have any insight on how much stuff that is foreign made that goes into our Military system ?????...Lou

No offence intended to you, but every time I hear this I keep wondering about this " WE " S##T...I don't EVER recall anybody asking me if I thought it would be a good thing to do..This is just something WE got stuck. or sucked into, by those who have allowed Greed to over ride National Pride !!!!

Just to show you how depressing my mind has gotten on this issue, Tomorrow is Memorial Day and I can't help but wonder, how many of the Flags that will be flying were made in China????:(....Lou

Lou,

I've been preaching about military supply downfall for yrs, checked into the uniforms and web gear failures yrs ago, practically ALL made in another country. Brand new BDUs falling apart, made in Honduras/etc by lowest bidder. Don't get me started on MOLLE gear disaster, where our soldiers were losing mags and other much-needed items, having to double back (UNDER FIRE) to get their gear.

This is brought to you by same mental-midgets of WW-II fame, lose your gear (in combat) while someone's counting beans and saving a dollar, let's drop those brainiac pricks in hostile zones, let them test THEIR "great ideas" first!

Practically ALL weapons made (or factories owned) by foreigners, remember when FAL was considered over M-14 in late 50s-early 60s evaluations? DOD said "F**K you" to FN, and now I'm told well over 80% of FN MGs/M-16s WILL replace American weapons, politics and outsourcing wins.

At any time, say we offend their "friends", those people can pick up shop and leave us with our asses hanging in the breeze, think we're going to start up American factories (like in WW-II) and make our own? Our resources, factories, and machinery have turned into outsourcing, we screwed ourselves, most factories are in other countries or heavily-dependent on them. To those who don't see it headed for us, history has a fine way of biting us in the ass. :(

When I purchase items I really do try and buy American first. Getting harder and harder to do. Just an example, last time I went to buy a pack of lightbulbs I had to look at 4 different packs before I found one that was made in America and it was 30 cents more. Bought it anyway because I figured it would help protect somebodys job at least for a little while.

nearly wept. Thanks Bill Clinton, you A-hole!!!

An "American" Thank You to all our troops and veterans EVERYWHERE.

The FAL was considered buy our military ,We were being urged by none other than our British friends at the time to make that transition away from our home grown M14. Where it stopped believe it or not was when the Dept. of the Navy said F**k NO.
Because thanks to ( Our Beloved Corps ) in their testing of the FN found a lot of reasons that they were not going to go that route.
Even China being the AK toteing Commie ,Bee Hive mentality, POS Country ,that it is ,always had a secret love for the M14.
As far as the US Military getting stuck with some FNH nightmare from Hell, POS Euro Trash ,We ain't heard no fat Lady yet.
List of American Arms Manufactures developing Modular weapons systems ,and are starting to combine forces together and they are starting to turn some heads.
Bushmaster (who is in the process of a multi Million Dollar contract with the State of Texas )
Magpul ,working with Bushmaster perfecting the Masada.
Robinson Arms ,Makers of the XCR that after some slow starts is being looked at hard by the Military . Alex Robinson was referred to by Eugine Stoner years ago as an insane version of JMB , and he took Stoner's m63 and refined it into the M96 weapons system that if you look on the web some consider it the finest modular weapons system ever made ,But Robarms stopped making it because it was expensive to produce in a &1.000.00 AR market.
Blogs say that all three of these company's are finally starting to talk to each other ,all have something to add in a rifle that will make anything FNH builds look like a mud Anchor.
The guys at Magpul are some sharp cookies, and with the production capability that Bushmaster has something is in the works.

Hell even hershey chocolate closed down the factory they had in california and moved it to mexico.

That's the truth. Even if you are willing to pay a little more for better quality American made products, you might not be able to find them. Major retailers buy the cheaper stuff because it sells faster, and if they don't support the American manufacturer, the manufacturer goes out of business even if you'd be willing to do business with him.

No I dont think they do, you should see the recap tires that are returned to tire shops and 1 vehicle accidents where there are fatalities because the tires exploded, btdt I had a 2 sets of those cheapass chiccom tires and all 8 of them were replaced-by Tires from Japan still holding good too.

The FAL is nothing more than a AR10 it eats from same place it shits, the M14 doesn't plus the M14 was better built whenyou ran out of ammo you could turn it into a Club and beat the snot of the other guy....if you had a bayonet lug and bayonet that would suck even more nothing like a long spear.

Lets start naming specific products made in 100% in America with no foreign components that you would use on a daily basis.

Car ?
Phone / Cell phone ?
TV ?
dish washer?
Refrigerator?
Stove?
Coffee Maker?
CUP?
Plate ?
Fork / Spoon ?

Since I'm BBQ, I think my Webber BBQ is the only thing made in America 100%, however I got a feeling the metal used in it, didn't come from America since American steel production is overly more expensive than foreign steel.

The steel tariff on import guage material would prohibit Weber from using import steel. The stuff they use is draw quality and probably re-rolled to a VERY specific thickness. We go through roughly 50 tons of steel, guage through plate(.012-3") every week and 99% is milled here in the US. Unfortunately we are now paying upwards of ninety cents per pound. This is because US resellers and mills are selling EVERYTHING to the f*cking Chinese. They have so much of our money, they can pay five times a commodities worth and then resell it at a 400% loss and still make it cheaper than us. I refuse to believe we as Americans actually let this happen. I am embarrassed that 60% of our population cant actually do anything, I'm only 39 years old and have a bleak view of the future already, damn. J
