I don't know what Rick's ID is on gunbroker. I can't say it's not him, but the other stuff that seller has listed doesn't look like Rick's line of stuff. But what do I know?

In any case, those bipods are rare and valuable, particularly the original heads and the one original rest. (It doesn't look like one of my repro rests.) Not to mention the wingbolts, if indeed those are original as they appear to be. The legs are common and cheap, but anyone looking to build a USGI A6 should look to see how cheaply these can be gotten. All the other components are available at least in repro form. Original jackets are hard to come by, but excellent repros are available from Ordnance Research. Bearings are out there, but the retaining rings are hard to find.

What puzzles me is the higher starting bid on the one withOUT the rest!

Not to pop your bubble-- But !!!!

I have a pair or original 1919A6 bipods and actually these on gunbroker look ok if they can be guarenteed as real-- I however for a couple reasons believe that the head is a repro-- My originals are both in beat up condition and can be authenicated 1000% but the one's on gunbroker appear to have a couple casting marks that my originals do not have I hope not to stir a Sh**Storm but that is how they look to me.I just want to warn others that the head may be a re-pop--- E-mail me directly for the pictures of my originals and you can judge for yourself

I can only say this. The only repros I am aware of are the limited run made by machinehead2, and those are not cast. I have originals and they are castings. There may be some differences in the casting marks from different mfgs. At least three separate manufacturers made the 1919A6, and it is possible some of the later production (1950s and 60s) was sub contracted. I have yet to see a bipod head with any mfg markings, so I have no way to ID who made what. But I do know that SAK marked their M7 flash hiders, and that Springfield Armory made some flash hiders too, as I have one with their mark. Don't think SA made any complete guns though. Never seen any A6 component with an SG or RIA mark, with the exception of the SG jackets. SAK also marked jackets. Barrels were marked though, by all mfgs. I think these look genuine, but buyer beware as always.

I bought original NOS A6 parts (still in the wrapper) from Rick 4 or 5 years ago before the price went out of sight and repro heads hit the market. At that time, he said he had several sets he had accumulated to build A6s for a movie. If anyone can help, I'm still looking for an M7 flashhider or original old stye booster.
