I shoot old ammo regularly and never had a problem with it. Of course, I'm using stuff from 1944 through the 1980's all of quality manufactures. stuff I'm shooting in the 60's and 70's is shooting harder and farther than the commercial stuff I can git!

At least that car for sale is in Bountiful, Utah.
Nice place to visit, but with all the road construction in recent years, I'd think the freeway would beat the crap out of that car.

Where do you get that this is the Owner of Vector Arms? Vector is in Utah. These guys seem to operate out of Florida. It does say a couple of them were associated with Botach at one time.
Ralph Merril is one of the owners of Vector.

From what I heard( and take this with a grain of salt) his problems primarily arose from some e-mails that he sent to the young guy in Miami. The e-mails apparently included pictures and directions on "how to clean wooden ammo crates"( How to remove all traces of the ammo's origin). I believe he may have been a financial backer in the deal as well.

Apparently, this issue will not affect Vector Arms, as Merril's actions were independent of company business.

This is total BS the one who should be under inditement is Gen. Porteaus (sp?). Almost all of the missing arms in theater are from his own crew. Almost all arms procrured by our Gov'mt in theater come from criminals. Bosnia Russia, etc. We pay for crates of "new weapons" that are USED with initals carved in stocks, stickers on them etc. blatently not new. Nobody gives a crap. Some poor A hole negociates a deal for ammo and three generations later down the line someone spray paints over the country of origin. I'm not saying that's right by any means but I find it really strange that all investigations about missing arms end up with some LT ( under the GEN in question) getting busted. IE brand new machine pistols go missing and all of his crew (who were in charge of secureing them) seen with them????? Every time they get "caught" some poor sucker gets railed and they ditch them (to Black Water and others) for other stolen weapons.
As tax payers what we pay for should be provided to our troops. But that is far from the case. For crying out loud most of us on the board are better supplied than our own troops. rant over, carry on. delta charlie 3 actual out.

WOW.... 298 MILLION dollars?!?!?!?!?!? For that kind of money, a guy could set up his own domestic manufacturing plant and stand to make some SERIOUS return on investment!

If they dont want all that ammo they can give it to me :D

Speaking of ammo, has anyone ever shot any of the stuff in the spam cans??

this is what the guy says..... its 7.62x39 Russian Mil-Spec 123gr. FMJ Ammo in a Sealed Spam Can. This ammo is manufactured by JSC Barnaul Machine-Tool Plant in Russia. The Barnaul plant is considered the premier ammunition plant in Russia, and they supply the majority of the ammo to the Russian military. This ammo is 100% non-corrosive, steel cased, and new factory ammo. In my opinion, the Barnaul ammo is cleaner and more accurate than the Wolf ammo.

I think these are the yellow or orangeish colored cans with the opener thingy.
