you know, most of us were so excited/relieve that it went the correct way, little was really impressed upon the fact that there are still 4 there who are vehemently against the constitution. and they are there for life. that really is a sad state of affairs.

In all governments, there are different opinions over what constitutions, laws and other such documents mean. In all religions there are religious leaders with different interpretations on what the scriptures mean. That's just the way it is. The written word is subject to interpretation, and different readers of the words inevitably put their own spins on it. The best we can do is have a large enough body of intelligent, educated people interpreting the Constitution so that the "average" opinion is likely to be correct. It's a flawed system full of human error - but that's what we're stuck with. There's no way around it.

There was a lot of talk about the fact it went this way , many said it was only a watered down ruling not a Victory.
It is why many on the other side are not taking this very seriously.
If it had gone against us even by that one vote ,you can bet they would be all over this right now, and both the candidates would be promising tougher restrictions.
Then if a police chief stood defiant and said they were not going to enforce any bans , he or she would be standing alone.
The good thing i see coming out of this is that now gun owners talk more about joining together to stop legislation , and exposing the lefts true agendas rather than saying they aint gonna get my guns , or lets all ban together .
The left knew that was all a bunch of talk ,and they used it to make us look like a drunken mob instead of citizens with rights.

There are obviously 4 justices who do not understand the US Constitution..............and/or they would rather make laws than correctly interpret what is there (and obvious!!!).......
Well, look at it this way. If enough people vote for Bob Barr, or write in Ron Paul next November, we can look forward to President Obama replacing two, old and fading leftist justices. Out of the four you mention, Stevens and Ginsburg are expected to retire in the next 4 years. Think how nice it will be to replace them with a couple of young leftist bucks that we will be stuck with for 20-30 years or more? :(

That's such an important point. People get so caught up in this beauty pageant of a presidential race that they forget just how important the Justices are. Hell, for that matter, most don't realize how important good Reps and Senators are as well. If you want to conduct a little experiment. Just go to the local mall, supermarket, etc. and ask 20 people who's their U.S. representative. Chances are, the vast majority will draw a blank stare.

The Senate is the most important cog in the confirmation wheel. If the left seats more than 60 senators after this election they will have a super majority that can do anything they darn well want to and with president messiah it will end up being a cluster beyond belief.
If it stays below 60 the best to hope for is that the Republicians will grow a back bone and block anything the libs want to do.
The best case is if 60 senators who are strict constutionalist's come together
and do what is right for this country.

Unfortunately, you are correct - but your comment reminded me that the last time I spoke with my representative (Giffords) was at a local supermarket. And the representative that preceded her (Kolbe) I last saw in the checkout line at Home Depot. I don't know how accessible representatives are in other parts of the country, but I will say that in southern Arizona they are easy to communicate with. Organizations I'm involved with have at times requested that Congressmen and women send representatives from their offices to our meetings to hear our concerns - Giffords and Grijalva have done so. And Kolbe set up meetings at the local school for the public to discuss issues he was working with.

I will not vote for Obama or McCain either. I have lived long enough in Arizona to know what McCain is really like and he is not much if any better than Obama.

His choice for replacement justices would not be as far to the right as the five that voted on the second amendment this time. About ten or so years ago he told me a direct lie when I received an answer to a letter I wrote. There is a chance the lie was told by one of his staffers but he is responsible for what his people say as they represent him.

When he started out he was fairly pro gun but ever since that time he has been moving more and more toward the left and there ideology. He is like most others in that he will say almost anything he thinks voters want to hear but will continue with what he wants with little regard for the voters if he is fortunate enough to win the election.

Gents.............my initial comment about the 4 justices who do not understand the US constitution............obviously still dont and never will.......was likened to different interpretations of 'written word'.......bible comment included. The interpretation of individual phrases may be subject to very limited different intrepretation, the message from the whole of the written words is '..........., the peoples right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.' Same people that the prevoius courts have determined are the population at large, 1st, 2nd & 4 ammendments in particular. Almost any idiot can figure that out, justices included.

The message from completely reading and understanding the new testament is to believe, repent and be baptised into Christ...then live the repentent life......................real tough to do for many in our contemproary society.

The founding fathers knew exactly what they were saying and what it meant.
I don't know why they have got to interprate anything , its like that warning i saw on that fan belt that time.
WARNING :Do not attempt to install belt while the engine is running.
Now what do we need to interprate this ?

It could be changed several ways ,but i think it really means ,,HAY STUPID.
In writing the 2nd Amendment i believe that ( Shall not be infringed )
But for those who do not understand that it also means, HAY STUPID .
