Acquired several of these but not sure what they are for. Mount for use on m2 or m3 tripod. What are they for?
Thanks

Pintle riser for an m3 tripod I believe.

Yes, but what mounts on it?
A picture of the socket end of the riser would definitely help ID the unit.
FWIW, M122 is the designation of the M2 tripod for the M60; M3 of course is for the M2HB. My guess is that the flanges marked M122 and M3 respectively are centered on something on those tripods, and this is a riser adaptable to either tripod.

You rotate the device on the tripod head, facing the appropriate marking. This is because the tripod heads are different sizes.
I'm dying to see one of these mounted on a tripod and a pic of the top. These things just don't make sense to me.....yet
Can we see the top? Seems too wide and too short for a standard pintle.
Well now those are very cool. My guess is that the notch fits over the front leg of the tripod? I definitely need to see a picture of the socket, but I would bet it takes a standard M2/M3 pintle.
It appears this is the M1 Egg Cup for serving brunch in the field using a tripod. Very rare.

Josh is the closest so far, their certainly not for an m2/m3 pintle! One handle locks whatever goes into the top. It is spring loaded also so if you push straight down on the whole cup it will compress. The other handle locks that.
