This is a rather large blue tinted magnifying glass. With all the tallent here does anyone know what it is used for? The best answers so far have been a Smurf detector and frying red ants.

My cheapo sony digi cam has a poor viewfinder. More than once it's been pointed out that my/your(?) feet are in the pics.
It was found in a box of electronic parts and equipment, possible clue?So far Smurf detector is winning, followed by red ant fryer and Blue Ray Movie enlarger respectively.

It has to have some reason to change white light not only into a beam ,but to emphasize one of the colors in that spectrum.

I know exactly what it is, I've seen them before.

It's a rather large blue tinted magnifing glass. It's used to magnify things when you need to see them in a blue tint.
