The cop did what they won't let us do to save his own life. He had no ideal what the kid was up to and he could be dead now if he hadn't done what he did. If the kid didn't want to die he should not have attacked the cop. He should have attacked somebody who couldn't shoot back.

I wonder if it would have seemed justified if the bat was being swung at her daughter? I'm sure the officer was just shooting to save his own life, and not worrying about kill or wound......stopping him was the main intent, and it worked!

I'm really not surprised that at least one person came out to say something like this - it's the nature of society nowadays - people have no clue what a situation like that (on the receiving end) is like.

Similiar case several counties away, happened way before Tasers were issued here, 2 cops and 350 lb perp, he had jumped both cops and (without a doubt) had plans to kill them, several witnesses overheard him screaming that. Both officers on the ground, one with broken ribs and other with concussion, they fired point blank into perp's chest with G-17s, the perp lives and sues for $4M, he wins, dept now issues G-21s, one could say they don't want this happening again.

"Somehow" the system hand picks jury that feels for perp, they stated in their (retarded) opinion that 2 cops should've been able to take the bat away from criminal, nevermind the criminal weighed as much as both cops and was swinging bat in an effort to crush their skulls, 4 witnesses were ignored by the jury.
