Where is the best place, to get the best price, on a new Springfield M1A1?

I have tried the usual suspects, (eg. SOG, Century, Sarco, etc. to no avail), any idea on price would also help. It seems the standard $1500 may be the norm these days but I would like some opinions. Any ideas????? Thanks

Your not gonna find one for under about 1300 bucks anywhere. Highway robbery. If somebody locates a source for under 1K, Id jump on it!

Ditto on the M14 Forum. http://www.m-14forum.com/upload/ There is no better place to go to find out anything M1A/M14. If you don't have a FFL, you're gonna get just as good a deal at a good Gun Shop that has them in stock. I got my SA M1A three years ago from a shop in NH and have been very happy with it. I have run over 2K thru it with out a hiccup. That was a mix match bunch of 7.62 from when Southern had it cheap.

I agree that if you have the bucks fulton or LRB is a better bet,, http://www.lrbarms.com/

Might get flamed for this, but here goes, I have had polytech, springfield, fulton, LRB and enterprise, Springfield is the worst in quality and overpriced. Bang for the buck Polytech (not norinco ) is the best, they have chrome lined barrel, forged receiver (like the entreprise and LRB ) but are half the price. Now there is that rumor about the bolt head being soft blah blah blah that was being passed around in the late 80's. but get real what would you expect springfield to say if they were competing with someone that had a superior product at a much cheaper price. I own 2 Polytech and they both shoot sub MOA, better than my friends Springfield national match does. Makes him sick.
