I've been advised to send the Gun to John Mc Guire to build but he does not do Blueing. He builds a wonderful gun but I'd like to have a nice blue job as well on this gem.... Can someone suggest who I can send a completed Mcguire gun for the finish work. Cold Blueing and brass polishing.

Did you guys check w/OOW? They do other finishes, but dunno about blue.

No Blueing at OOW anymore

OOW used to do blueing, and nice work too, but because the demand wasn't there they stopped offering it. . . . . 99% of everything they make was parkerized.

Check out http://www.johnstonsmallarms.com/ . Paul's done 4 or 5 guns for me both parkerizing and re-blueing. Does a real nice job and very reasonably priced. Former Marine and a true American Patriot.

Try this stuff from Brownells. We used to use it on DLO Watercooled 1917s. This was Doug's "factory blue" finish. It is a lot of work, and time, but turns out great! It gives you the old world rust blue finish that would be right for the 1928 Colt.
