Because its north korean. Tough one to find in any condition. Surprising thing is that the one sold is a reweld and therefore not C&R. Doesn't matter though when there are so few registered.

I was bidding and on the phone at today's RIA auction. Mgs were going for crazy money- Like double the "market" prices I would have predicted, not even counting the Buyers premium .... The CRA MG42 on a modern tripod went for over $70k w/out BP.

It is a sign of the "Times" we are in ,3.7 million background checks in Mar. 2020 alone ,a new record out stripping the last presidents monthly average for 8 years of about 1.2 million per month .......Ammo was the issue then now AR parts are scarce and 80% lowers are rising in price and supply is falling ..... The pundits have No idea how many are already owned they claim 300 million ,in 76` Paul Harvey on his radio show said it was 400 million and i trust he was closer to right than the pundits today are !! You do the math ......

When do they post the sold prices? I thought they would show up for the items in my watchlist but no prices.

I'd like to know what a few items went for.

Anyone else get anything?
Felt like all the prices I saw were super high. But I didn’t watch the whole auction

I have gotten good deals out of RIA auctions, and others. BUT - you have to go in knowing what the Buyers premium is, and taxes now, and what a reasonable market value is. A couple of years ago, I got a type 99 DEWAT, with 2 original mags in excellent condition for $6k. last year, an almost identical gun with NO mag sold for 12k. I was interested in it since I liked them, they would have made a great set and I had the other original mag. But not at double the price ( plus cost of reactivation) . I think we discussed the type 92 HMG I got last fall out of the Centurion auction. I paid about $14k, and felt I stole it. I was prepared to go 10 K higher . It came with a lot of cool accessories, and while shipping cost was huge it was a killer deal. you really have to do your research, go see the gun, call and ask questions, and understand the TOTAL cost you will pay. this RIA auction seemed to be a rich kid bidding war type of auction - I listened in for most of the MGs on the phone while bidding and in between my items. you can hear the people on the floor and several of these guns had 2 or 3 people running them up.

Beautiful 99!

They're charging sales tax now? On used merchandise at auction? These items should be exempt. That sucks.

yup, unless you have a tax cert from your state (since you are likely buying for resale) then you get out of it.

New regs passed not too long ago to allow them to collect sales taxes for other states. Affected internet sales too. You no longer have to have a presence in the buyers state to collect sales tax for that state. Its truly a poor deal but the socialists like to spend and you know where the money comes from right?

I've been wondering about RIA after a few of their auctions. I've seen some stuff that sold for outlandish prices and yet when we went to pick up an item a friend bought those sold items were still there. Some of them more than a year later. I have a feeling some of the bidding was not quite right. Owners having friends bid things up to jack prices of other items they have. If you pay buyer and seller premiums of 30% to raise the value of your items by 200% its probably worth it.
