Last Friday I had a group of people at a private range to fire one of my 1919s, during a 15 or more round rapid fire I and some noticed a "Wooosh" sound and an extra flash about one foot from the muzzel, anyone seen this?

...was unburned gases in front of the muzzel igniting after I stopped the crank....
Unburned gases? Any gas coming out of the barrel should be direct result of burning powder and will not themselves ignite or burn. But... it's very likely you've got unburned powder making it past the end of the barrel. The shorter the barrel, the more likely this will happen. Notice that the pictures posted in tis thread with the bright flashes are from short-barrelled guns.
