The short Czech 7.62x54R blanks are quite common and inexpensive. However, being short, they are for the machineguns, such as the PKM.

The Czech blanks remain inexpensive because they don't always work for all 7.62x54R applications. Jamming and failure to feed is common in the Mosin Nagant series and the SVT-40 Semi-Automatic rifle.

Odd... It popped up on the portal in the main page. That's what I get for disappearing on Active Duty.

Anyhow... that's valuable info. I still have friends buying Czech blanks and having feeding problems in thier rifles.

I recently got some long (full sized) brass cased 7.62x54R blanks from Joe Swanson, so I'll be able to so a range report next week at the reenactment with the Mosin Nagant and the SVT-40 on how they feed and shoot.

Correction: Atlantic Wall Blanks, not Swansons.

I didn't personally use them, but they sounded good. Plus, no complaints from the guy that I loaned my SVT-40 to and gave a handfull of blanks.
