Hi looking for a M29 81mm mortar barrel mounting ring,The ring threads onto the barrel and bipod shock absorber pins to it.Any leads would be greatly appreciated, Can send a picture of one on barrel if unsure . email Is best [email protected]

Sorry should have posted a pic of one long ago. The ring I am in need of is the pinned piece on the barrel. It is threaded as too adjust on the barrel thread and pins shock absorber to barrel. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

If memory serves the "thread" is the bugger to recreate. Some people looked into recreating the tube and even with CNC the outer thread was not coming out right.

I’m guessing you would have cutters ground to the finished thread size then thread with those on a manual lathe.
This is a Standard (T&E Mechanism) for the M30 4.2in (107mm) Mortar, in US use from 1951 to about 1995, that was when we finally got the "new" M120 120mm Mortar copies of the WWII Russian M1943 Mortar.

Im assuming it’s the lower ring on the barrel your speaking of except that it is threaded to match the barrel? This was converted to black powder but I still have the original ring somewhere here in my shop. I just remade this ring for my new “smooth sided” barrel as I wanted to retain the shockobsorber.
