For us new guys, are there quick ways to identify semi-auto parts to differentiate from fa parts? Also, the same question for the 80% RSP's to ensure that there will be legal when completed. This information would be very handy for browsing at gun shows. Thanks!

your most likely not going to find semi parts at gun shows. Just full auto parts and parts kits. Your best and cheapest way of going about a build Is to buy a complete parts kit which will be less the right side plate. The only parts you need for semi auto is a semi auto trigger, sear, and return spring. Karma metal products has them and allied armament. (I suggest karma) and also a semi right plate. Your lockframe, barrel extension, and bolt need to be machined for semi auto. On this site if you look up 30calmachinegunner he has the best deal in town doing the machine work on these 3 pieces and can supply the karma trigger, sear, and return spring. He does what I think is the best quality work and has quick turnaround time. The right plates are sold in 100% complete and 80% complete. I prefer the 80% as I trust only myself for drilling the holes. There are quite a few people who sell the plates. As IDing the parts I dont know the exact measurements but I know that the right semi plate Is thicker than a full auto plate. and the 3 internal parts are machined thinner to compensate for the thicker plate. Im sure someone can chime in and give you exact measurements, but like I said you usually need to get these parts done rather than them lying around on the tables of gun shows. good luck.

....in IN....

If you are close to Indiana and attend the gun shows (Indy,Crown Point,Ft. Wayne,South Bend,Evansville) I usually have a complete set of internals... machined, parked and ready to install and several 100% RSP's. ...also parked and ready to rivet. This is for the guys that don't have the resources. I also have several receivers ready for #4473 transfer. Send email...not message... for prices and shipping......

maybe I was wrong. Here in cali our gun shows consist of non threatning pocket knives, beef jerky, and betty boop crap.
Yeah, bigblock, we get squat as far as good MG parts here. Put the SAR show in December on your calendar! Phoenix is just a hop, skip and a jump away! Oh, and bring LOTS of money...

Centreviller, if you are not near L999here in Indiana, I do know that Ordnance Research out of PA often has milled internal sets at the shows they attend. That might not be help unless you are near PA though. But bigblock is right that the best, and cheapest, way to go is to get a complete kit and have 30calmachinegunner do your internals and supply the KMP trigger and sear. If you have the ability to drill and rivet, the 80% plates are great. If you can at least rivet, a 100% plate is okay too. Or, there are good builders like John McGuire out there who can assemble you kit for you. Lots of options!
