Want is the going rate on an M53 complete kit with a good {live} barrel , these days...Parts are like new and I also have a new front thread repair section for the shroud....I bought this kit many years ago , for spare parts for my 53 , but have since converted it over to an MG3 , and bought all the extra parts to support it in that configuration ....So I no longer have a need for it...I won't build it , but someone will.....I barely shoot the one I have......I have no idea what I paid for it , Just want to see if it's worth my time selling it in todays market.......Opinions ?

When you say "complete" do you mean including the rear receiver sections? Makes a big difference.

Partial kits (like AJDreaming posted about) run $550 with a live barrel. Then they get parted out, since barrels go for almost $300. Sellers on GB asking $700+ are dreaming.

Full kits, with the whole receiver, and live barrel, depend on condition and photos. Midwest has been selling them for about $900 (varries by auction) though they are beat. Complete excellent condition kits have run as high as $1800, but typically $1500...though I've seen them sell as low as $1000 it all depends on the direction of the wind.

A typical Yugo M53 kit had the front nose section (with the threads) cut in half. This renders the entire front half useless. The parts kit ( with a non usable receiver ) and a good BBL should be in the 600 range.

I believe Doug Oefinger imported a FEW single cut MG42 kits, but I also believe he built them into transferable guns.. Or so the story went from Doug when I had one of his MG42s..

The big rut of Yugo M53 kits initially hit in 2007-2008. The was well into the ATF's 3 cut ruling era. I dont think 1 cuts have been allowed in a LONG time. (Way before Yugo's were imported) I think a legit 1 cut receiver, regardless of its origin, would bring excess of 1500 bucks. (More for dirty birds) Im not saying they dont exist, Im just saying as Ive seen as many 1 cut Yugos as I have seen unicorns, big foot and chupacabras.

About anything and everything around $600 or less seems like it is sold. With live barrel and a good cut receiver look for $800 plus. That's normal yugo that is. German receivers should go for more.

Ok guys , thanks for the responds ….Let me paint a better picture.....It is a clean Yugo kit , that has been torch cut about a 1/2in behind the rear site...There are no other receiver pieces from that point back...When I said "complete", I meant it has all the other parts less rear receiver...the barrel is clean and crisp lands...The shroud is in good shape and is not beat to hell...The nose/threads are cut , but I have the nose repair piece that Wiselight was selling years ago...That in itself is around $100 + if you can find one....I bought this kit with a bunch of other things that a guy was getting rid of after he sold off his working 53...Tripods/linkers/belts/barrels/drums , so I have no idea whit I might have paid for it , or what it's worth....I have a habit of paying too much for stuff , and selling it for too little....Because I never do the research ….That's why I started this thread...My takeaway from this is around $650 give or take....Maybe this is enough motivation for me to dig it out, lay it out and take some good pic's.....I am not a motivated seller at this point , just trying to gage a fair price on both ends...…….Feel free to add your opinions......It least it gives us something to BS about.....GUNNER 50

Just read Gunner's post.

Used Rheinmetall bushings are $60 at RTG; looks like they are out of the US made, which were $75.

I'd say ask $650. Better yet part it out:
Barrel $280
Shroud $100
Bushing $75
Top cover $100
Grip $100
Stock w/ buffer $100
etc.

Tripods/linkers/belts/barrels/drums

Anti aircraft tripod 150 to 200
tripod - lafette? 250 - 1000 what type??
linkers - 100
bels - 5 to 10 each
barrels - 200 to 350 yugo German 8mm or 308?
drums - 35 to 100 what type?

kit sounds like the rear of the receiver could be one of the shorter ones, cut 1" behind sight. Where on that cut is important. Still with a barrel etc $750?

Nice to have extra to sell.
