This might sound like a no brainer, but what is the correct size of the bolt that runs through the 1919 to mount it to the tripod. The reason I ask is that I bought a MG 42 AA tripod and adapter from ammunitionstore.com and I trashed the bolt it came with because the the mounting fixtures on the side of the gun were inproprely aligned when welded (it is an ORF gun). I fixed the situation by opening up the missalined piece so the bolt runs through smoothly. Only problem is I cant find a bolt to replace it! I have tried a few places without luck. The ammunitionstore.com has never returned an email for a request for another bolt. Have tried a 5/8' and 1/2' bolt with no luck. Any info appreciated.

Thirwell1216,
The repair spacer I got from Pain Inc. shims the pintle bolt hole back to 9/16" (from 5/8") IIRC. This is for mounting on the M2 tripod, not sure if that's what you need for the AA tripod. I'm assuming the 5/8" you tried wouldn't fit and the 1/2" was too loose - if that's the case get a 9/16", should be good.

The original is 9/16"dia. fine thread with a long shoulder. You can get the bolt at a very very very good hardware store but without the long shoulder. Someone here sells them for around $10. Some people drill out to 5/8"(very common size) but then you'll need to drill your pintle to 5/8" if ever using a M2 tripod.
