I'm looking for an online retailer that has original USGI 1911 mags at a reasonable price. Let me know where you guys have been getting yours. I have found a few places with pretty good prices (around $6-$7 ea.), but these are companies that I have never heard of before. As a sidenote, I'm also looking for USGI leather mag pouches for these mags.-COPE

Never heard of em, but they have government contract mags NIW, so I might give them a try.

I bought some mags at a gunshow a while back that were marked Colt 45 Auto on the floorplate, and they were just terrible. They must have been Chinese or somwthing similar.

I got 6 recently from Centerfire Systems that were advertized as GI and did look and function very well. (I was a unit armorer about 69-70 and saw lots of 45 mags) I think they still have them for $6-7 each. They were blued with a dull finish. I wanted to have some two tone so I set 4 in vinegar and got rid of the blue half way down from the top. Worked like a charm and they look quite good in a leather pouch. Not hard to do but one has to be careful to get a good result.

Yeah, I thought about yours for a day or so, and when I decided I'd take them, I saw Frank had already spoken for them. Just goes to show that you really have to make up your mind pretty quick around here.
