Got this a long while back, just collecting dust and I guess it's time to sell it. But it's a bit different from other MG42 kits, seems like an old demil because they used a saw to cut off the rear receiver only, the rest of the front is still intact, even the rivets for the trunnion were never cut. Lots of WW2 markings too, so what would the value of this kit be?

The kit looks to be in excellent condition and the barrel shroud is still intact.

I'd say around $950. The camming slots are cut through the rear 1/3rd so you don't have to worry so much about aligning barrel for accurcy.

I may be wrong

Ya being that it is german and not a m53 it brings the value way up,and it has good markings not to mention the complete front half, A WLA front bushing is $125 alone, plus the work of installing it, i just saw someone pay $400 for a front half with caming section in tact, but was cut through the front bearing and it wasnt even german. The prices are becoming crazy.

its a great front half. and appears to be in good shape...

but with out that very rear most section with the stamp and manu place and year on it thats gonna hurt your price a good bit.

now if someone has a good rear to go with this then your in ...... couldnt really tell much about the top cover.

Depending on how many WWII German parts there are, I would say this is worth $1000 at minimum and would probably sell for $1200.

It looks like the shrould is complete all the way past the camming section. Somebody with one of those IMA cut rear could have a fairly easy build.
