Jeez guys I hate to do this but I gotta....

I have a 1910 maxim kit that has to go. SPF
Overall it's in real good shape, it's missing the oiler caps which are easy to find. One of the leaf springs in the top cover is broken, this is a common problem and not a big deal, a friend has promised to send me a replacement spring when he gets home from vacation. If and when the spring shows it's yours. The spade pin isn't pictured but I have it and it will come with the kit.
The jacket is in good shape, it has a small repair on the bottom near the front, it isn't perfect but lets face it these went through a war and they were used to the utmost of their ability!
I have a belt & can that I will throw in too.
If you want a piece of history, well get it while you can.

I have to get $1000.00 + shipping and insurance out of her.
Face to face is Ok, but sorry no trades. (I'm in Central Indiana)

Now for the rules.
There has been some problems lately as to "Who's on First" so to speak so here it is. The first person to E-MAIL me that says "I'll take it" gets it.
It will be listed on this board exclusivly for the first 24 hours, if no takers I'll list it elsewhere.
Thanks
John

I think its time to set up a build a party for the florida guys to do some Maxims. Pirate is down your way and seems to be the guy up to speed on these and sounds like you have the perfect place to do it. What do you think?

And here I was thinking about doing one up here in early spring;) , I think I even had SHERMAN and MP40GUNNER(?) convinced to come over and lend a hand. The thing is with a Maxim build the parts need made and or modified before hand. It is not something you are going to accomplish in one day let alone a weekend otherwise.
If a person has all the work done before hand the final fitting, riveting and finishing can then be accomplished but don't plan on attacking these like a 1919 build because they are definatly a different breed.

Well I was thinking if we got the guys in florida or anyone else who wants to build together, we could set up sending everything off to whomever can do the machining all at once and order all the other parts, sideplates etc. and when it all comes in, get together to do the build.

30calmachinegunner, I think that would be a great idea as well. :D Would this build be open to others as well? If so, I had better get started so I'm ready! :)

I wouldn't mind doing one sometime between late March and early May, the thing is the semi parts will need to be made and the full auto parts converted before hand. The final fitting of the internal parts(timing) and assembly(riveting and finishing) are about the only thing that there would time for and I doubt much more than a handful of guns could be done.

But it would be fun and informative:D

I'm sitting on 3 parts sets waiting on Dennis to get his conversion kits ready in about 5 or so weeks. I wouldn't mind hosting a build, but I would probably need to build one myself first just to see what tools we need and how the thing goes together.

I thot Dennis was the only one producing a compliant semi conversion or am I missing something??

Sherman has his design available. I prefer Sherman's design since it doesn't have the housing protruding below the floor plate as Midwest's design has.

Just my preference to keep the external look of the maxim close to original as possible.

Also one needs a steel feed block for Midwest's design as it needs to me modified by welding on a part. Sherman's design doesn't require any mods to the feed block so Brass or Aluminum feedblocks work as well with that route.
