Well fellas, I decided not to keep this kit and build it myself. I have way to many irons in the fire and to many other kits and projects in line in front of it and I don't want it to languish in it's current state... It deserves a better life with someone who loves inch rifles!
I'm offering up the only Australian L2A1 kit I've ever personally seen, I was lucky enough to be able to obtain it and find almost all of it's original parts. Currently it's missing the selector, mag catch, and bolt release, I'm told that these are easily obtainable. (There is a small chance I might be able to find the originals, if so they're yours at no cost). Included with the kit is a replacement pistol grip, bi-pod assembly and charging handle, the original charging handle was torched when the receiver was cut.
The bore is as new, I took pics of it but they never come out very well, take a look at the muzzle gauge and that should tell you everything that you need to know. The overall finish is average, worn in some spots and not so worn in others.
The gas tube has little finish remaining, it looks like it started to get some rust on it and someone sanded or steelwooled it down. There are some small rust spots on the barrel but I don't believe any of them are pits, very minor at worst case. The bolt and carrier are electro pencil matched and they match the number on the lower, it's numbered AD621467 with an upside down AD just aft of the number (hand stamped?)
There is an extra butt stock (used) included but I think the one attached is original.
The zip tie around the lower is so the gun show morons wouldn't pull the trigger and let the hammer spring and strut fly across the room.
Just add and inch receiver and a refinish and this would truly be the centerpiece of any FAL collection.
I took a ton of pics, if there is something that you want to see that's not already shown let me know.
I'm asking $2000.00 shipped and insured via UPS to the lower 48, payment will be Postal Money Orders only. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
Thanks for looking,
John
