where excatly are there barrel demilled at? hopefully, they are toward the front, very close to the muzzle so that they could still be used to make a SBR HK53 clone

The barrel is demilled on both sides of the triple frame, which is just exactly the right length to make a pistol which is what I did with my kit.. All you gotta do is re-crown and thread the barrel, move the triple frame back, and shorten the cocking tube.. Of course buy a HK-53 recoil spring from adam at HK parts and an HK-53 pistol endcap and you're good to go . These kits make SWEET little pistols...
