WTS/WTT VEPR 308 w/ lots of mods (price drop)
I guess the Russian M14 joke must have offended some M1A purists, so let's try this again: VEPR 308 converted to take M14 mags in San Diego. I am funding my first 1919, so I figured I'd place the ad here too. It is currently in a CA legal configuration(no pistol grip, stock fixed in place) Here's the story. I bought this back in 01 when stationed in VA. It was really my first venture into any serious modifications so some of the work is a little rough, but it functions great and is plenty accurate for a big AK. I cut and crowned the barrel at about 18", and put an ACE gas block front sight on it. I cut up the stock and made a folding stock (currently fixed in place) and raised it a little for a better sight picture. The mag conversion works well, but depending on the mags you have they may require some fitting. I will include the stock 5 rnd mag that fits fine, but has been converted to work with the M14 mag conversion, 1 20rnd repair kit that fits and functions well so if you have M14 mags you can rebuild one with these parts to fit just right. (applies to CA sale only, otherwise, 1 complete mag included) I made an upturned "galil style" charging handle out of a bolt too. Also has an Ultimak rail, home made extended mag release and I just cleaned it up and put a fresh coat of Hi-temp paint on the metal and polyurathyne on the wood.
This gun has maybe 500 rounds through it and has mostly been played with in the shop. I won't lie, this thing beats up brass. It loves mil-surp and leaves a big dent in the side of each case so use your surplus, not your nice handloads. I'll also give you a pistol grip if you want to go to a fixed mag setup. I also willl give you the VEPR 10 rnd mag, but it will need work to fit right and feed properly. So, is the link to the ad on Calguns with the pics:

I have no idea what this would be worth, but stock on Gunbroker I see them getting from $800-$1200. I have put a TON of work into this one so that may make it worth more or less depending on your point of view. I never shoot it anymore so I'm just going to let it go. I have done a bunch of work on this so I am looking for a PPT in San Diego county so you can check it out in person but if you want it shipped, I'll send more pics so just email me what you want to see. I am asking $700. Interested in full or partial trade. Mostly would be interested in:
Marlin Camp 45
Something in 10mm
USP 45 (or an HK45 if any of you cops out in CA bought one and don't like it!)
or something interesting
