virgin unassembled POF parts kit with semi auto compliance parts

these were on the market for a VERY short time from POF-USA.com
I purchased this at SAR in phoenix years ago and wish i would have grabbed more cause you cant find anything newer.

There are very very few of these in country cause POF-USA decided to make AR15s instead of continue to bring in G3 parts which is a shame cause these are NICE kits and the guns are fantastic once built by a quality smith!

POF has there ISO 9001 certification, and these parts are made on Heckler and Koch tooling and with automated robots (not some hodgy sitting in a sand pit in kandahar). I have a cd that comes with it that shows POF making these parts and a copy will come with the parts set.

SOLD PENDING FUNDS - THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks for looking!
Mike

this photo shows a fire control box that has been converted to semi auto already, and a semi auto hammer, trigger, sear, and us made cocking handle. im also including a 0 1 SP89 grip frame. it does not fit the G3, but you can trade it for one that will. I do not own a SP89 so its kind of useless to me.
also shown are the new small parts (anti rattle mag release lever, rear sight, etc etc) and the bottom of the green wide forearm

a green pistol grip for use with the standard sef lower should you choose to buy one, and use that instead of the green navy

comes with the bipod that attaches to the green wide forearm

new buttstock assy.

the green navy lower with abidextrous safety selector (no trigger parts inside - never came with any)
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm6.jpg

the carry handle that goes on the receiver
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm7.jpg

the bolt and bolt carrier - the powder stuff is a VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) packet that leaked and the carrier is dusty. Some oil will clean it up and make it look like new

this parts kit was made in March of 2003

leather sling

new complete cocking tube with green cocking lever installed
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm11.jpg

new trunnion, and new front sight base - surface rust - you will blast and paint the gun when done and will never see this anyway - it would probably wipe off with oil and a rag and some elbow grease, or just drop it in a pot of water and boil it, then card the stuff off with a scrubby.

virgin trunnion - never been mounted or drilled
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm13.jpg

new barrel and flash hider
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm14.jpg

barrel is showing surface rust also - same deal with the oil and scrubby
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm15.jpg

included is a nice rubber psg1 / msg90 style buttpad for the G3 (very desireable and very comfortable to shoot with this pad)
http://www.oldsrocketscience.com/auctions/pof/sm16.jpg

this is kind of a rare variant of the g3 because POF just dont care to make parts for us to bring in, and they are one of the only current manufacturers of the g3

dont miss this one

forgot to mention, the green navy lower has been "clipped and pinned" by big 50 so it fits on a semi automatic receiver. It gives the look of a full auto pin on swing down lower. it has pin ends glued to the grip frame to make it look like it even has a pin installed.

you can get a HK "FBI" lower pack and it will drop right into the green navy lower and give you a legal semi automatic navy ambidextrous lower that looks full auto but functions semi auto.

i THINK you can modify the fire control group i have included for use inside the navy ambi lower but im not 100% certain on that - ask hkpro

and the green navy lower is unique to POF to my knowledge - i know HKs are black even though they have green stocks and handguards

assuming you have a 100% receiver

originally the trunnion was spot welded into the receiver - places like century arms weld a ring around the front of the receiver to the trunnion, and most smiths just drill holes into the receiver and plug weld the trunnion in - just like an AK47 except an AK has rivets holding the trunnion to the sheet metal receiver, where HK has welds.

then you press the barrel into the trunnion just like on an AK47 build.
you press the barrel in until you have achieved optimum bolt gap of .018 inch
then you cross drill the trunnion with a 5mm drill bit and drive the barrel pin in with a hammer.

next you put a .018 (or whatever you bolt gap is set to after pinning) shim onto the end of the bolt carrier tube and lock the bolt set into the trunnion. slide the cocking tube on until the shim comes to rest against the cocking sleeve and you spot weld (or drill holes in the receiver and plug weld) the cocking tube to the receiver

next you install the front sight and time it to the rear sight on the reciever. Clamp it, drill it, insert the sling eyelet pin and smash it like a rivet, then on the HK it is welded over.

blast it - paint it - assemble all parts - shoot it

its ALOT like building an AK47 with the exception that you are welding instead of riveting. A standard harbor freight tong type 230 v spot welder is plenty to accomplish the task, and there aint much involved in learning how to use one of those. People build AKs with dry ice and hammers (dry ice to shrink the barrel, heat to expand the trunnion and a hammer to tap the barrel into the trunnion) although i recommend making fixtures to press the stuff correctly. I also recommend getting a copper rod to insert up inside of the cocking tube to keep it aligned with the receiver and heat sinked before welding in the cocking tube. i also recommend silver soldering the front sight base on to the barrel then test firing it at the range with a mapp gas torch. Shoot it - if point of aim is off, heat it up and tap it over - let solder cool again and shoot it - if point of impact is correct, then take it home and drill the hole for the sling eyelet pin and smash it like a rivet (locking the front sight base in position)

it shares ALOT of things with that gun as far as the build process goes.

how accurate are these rifles?
how much would a 100% receiver cost?
standard battle rifle accuracy

they can be accurized more - google psg1 sniper rifle which is a hopped up G3

100% receivers? you can go as cheap as a century arms receiver (they used to sell those to dealers for as little as $80.00 back in the day, but admittedly ive been out of the game for a long time now)

i know they sell the flats on gunbroker, and i know mojohona has a jig to make them 100%? Or at least i THINK its Mojohona forgive me if im wrong?

one last question...
does this particular rifle make the HK chamber marks on the brass after is has been ejected?
the HK rifles i have shot put a indentation on the brass, about 3-4 lines , i believe the reasoning is to stop the brass from shifting in the chamber when being fired?
blast i have so many kits running right now, the last thing i need is another one... guess it will keep me busy if husain gets in office, and when im married(T-12 months now)

yes, this has a standard CETME fluted chamber. ALL factory barrels on G3s have a fluted chamber. I cannot remember if its 12 flutes or 16 flutes but i believe 12, i could count it if it was important?

The reason for the fluted chamber is to reduce pressure of the case on the chamber wall after firing so it can blowback out of the chamber reliably

The CETME fluted chamber is FAR from being the first gun to use it. I know for certain the SVT40 also has a fluted chamber just like the CETME (note, the HK G3 is a CETME variant so i just call it the CETME). and i believe there were a few before the svt40 to have fluted chambers as well?

The brass is still reloadable even though it was shot through a fluted chamber gun. Once you full length resize the brass is usually shrinks it back down to spec. I have reloaded LOTS of brass shot out of CETMEs and they last the same 4 reloadings as the brass shot out of a FN FAL without flutes.

you can never go wrong with parts kits!! Im only selling my stash cause i have a burning desire for a Savage made Lewis gun, and those unfortunately for me aint cheap

i have several G3s including one built off of an identical parts kit, and they all shoot great, but i dont need 20 g3s sitting in my safe, and im trying to fund a Savage 30 06 Lewis gun.

Whomever buys this kit will be happy with it. wanna make payments on it with your credit card? i can work something out - send me a PM and ill give you the details.

buy the kit today and ill include a copy of the armorers manual on cd

let me know if i can be of further help

absolutely possible. its a simple matter of popping 2 pins out of the buttstock housing and pulling the fixed stock off, and then sliding the collapsible stock on and putting the 2 pins back into the buttstock housing
