back in 02 these kits sold for 250 dollars
That was junky ones for $299 for about a minute without tripod. There was a group buy with tripods for $395 that lasted a few seconds followed by some 98% kits with 60-79% tripods(bunker or convertable to AA -no choice) for $495. I remeber there being less than 300 imported and some were unfired. If you haven't seen one of these in person you don't know what your missing these things are a work of art in the machining department.

No, the ones I speak of were 250 dollars not 299. They did not include the tripod, but it was still a zb37 with nice cuts.

Yes i remember people talking about these after the GB - the craftmanship that went into these with the receivers milled from a solid block of steel. Another great GB by Gary. Only 300 imported, i did not know that.

Has anyone built a semi ZB37? I'd love to see one.

If i remember, IO was selling these at one time - buy one and get the second at half price or something like that.

Once upon a time EZFEED had a design into BATF but nothing has seemed to have come of it. Mine still has a strip of paper down the barrel. I'm pretty sure it was demill'd unfired. Group buy from Weaponeer in my single days - thanks Gary!

They are a work of art for sure, and tell the tale of how Germany went about building things. The handgrips slide forward on a rail to catch & cock the bolt, then latch to the rear for normal firing. Has a rate of fire slelector switch, a rear sight that is a machine project all by itself. Makes the brownings look pretty bush league, but then again big and simple parts will alway prevail in the rigrors of war, as it's a dirty business.

But from the comfort of my happy little house it is quite a clever piece of engineering.
