Absolutely. Getting these done involved multiple parties, starting with the versions kkkriverrats sold here in conjunction with his m1919tech.com website. With effort by a couple of us to get it hooked up with John, who did a magnificent job enhancing them, these are now available direct from John, from myself and from 42rocker. There is also the 1917A1 BSD Manual done to the same, magnificent quality. John has been doing spectacular English translations of German manuals, and others, for many years. You guys need to pick these up.

Ive been searching for something like this since I got my 1919 kit. Everyone needs this book.. Could you possibly translate the blurred tool section of the book for me.?
I'd have to double check with kkkriverrats, but I think he got the foundation for this scanned from the Rock Island Arsenal Museum, probably off an original. In any case, the quality of the original scan has been cleaned up as much as possible at this point. I do have a digital version of this, but it is not necessarily any better. Let me know which particular tools you are looking for, and I can see if I have anything more clear. Bear in mind, a lot of the drawings we obtained from RIA were long faded, copied from 35mm film shots of the originals. There is date missing or unreadable from time to time.

This group of Manuals started out as outstanding then got just a little bit better. A great time saver and helper.
Several folks have this group of manuals at the gunshows so you can check it out and John sells them in the mail off his website. One on the 1919a4, 1917a1, M1 Grand, Thompson, and a new one that I have not seen Yet, "Rebuild Standards for Small Arms - Military Issue" Want to get that one. See them at some of the gunshows or

Great Job Everyone.

I'd love to have decent dimension pages where all the numbers could be read, but the originals were really small, (originally 4 to a page), and crappy to start with. Enlarging them (2 to a page) made the prints a little easier to see, but some of the dimensions weren't discernable to start with, and making them bigger couldn't help that. The rest of the book I could clean up and restore, but there's no way to fix what isn't readable. I'll keep looking, but if anyone has an original that I can scan or something with all the dimensions readable, please let me know. I put about 45 minutes per page in Photoshop to get it looking as good as it is, but there's only so much that I can do.

Thanks guys,

John Baum
