Too much schnapps?

"No, really sir, there was no tree here when we parked last night. It just grew up around the barrel overnight!"

Good caption for the picture could be:

"Sir, I'll park behind this tree and maybe the Germans will not see us." --Ivan

Vodka and tanks do not mix well. :)

That photo reminded me of when I was in armor school at Ft. Knox in 1979. A M60A1 going about 25 mph ran into the back of stopped M60A1 one night and the force of the impact knocked the main gun out of its mount causing it to move around inside the turret. Very lucky no one got killed that day.

Maybe the crew was servicing the recoil system and the tree was just really, really rotten?
Or it could'a been vodka.

tank VS tree

Must have been a pretty stout tree to take a hit like that and not fall over, the gun cradle must have been fairly stout to not let go as well!
