I was wondering if this kit included the same parts as any other mg42/m53 kit, and would it be enough for me to start a semi-auto build with?

I'm really stupid when it comes to looking to parts, and should probably get to know my guns better!

Also are these m53's identical enough to mg42's that mg42 builds will work on the m53?

I also saw that these are back-ordering right now, has anyone had experience with this company? Or are there any Centerfire systems representatives on this forum?

God, i must sound like a retard asking all these simple questions, sorry guys :(. I tried the search button without much luck, although i probably just passed the information...

I'm going to slap myself if there is like a sticky or somthing here...

EDIT: forgot link!

Thankyou for any information!

Mike,

Basically same as MG-42. Has enough parts to start semi-auto conversion incl barrel shroud, you'll need front booster bushing, camming section, and rear half of receiver, those are missing. Rear half of receiver, FCG, and bolt/carrier needs converted to S/A specs.

I HIGHLY doubt CF will get any more kits, to save you some frustration surf the WTS forum here, better to buy NOW from members who've advertised kits recently, least you'll know the kit is shipped ASAP. ;)

CRAP! Missed fact you were in Canada, you need importation paperwork, OR contact MARSTAR for your parts, you guys are lucky there. ;)
Marstar said for me to grab a Form-6 (whatever that is) , in order to import parts for a class-111 weapon (not sure what that is either!). They only sell parts-kits by the half container laod full, unfortunately. However some parts i'm sure i could buy there.

Centerfire Systems has a rep, “Magnus,” on another site fielding this question regularly about the availability of their M53 parts kits, on backorder for I believe 14 months. Even he is only lukewarm with confidence that they will ever show-up. To my understanding by taking backorders they have the kits, they are merely in the stream of becoming available, but the importer has not given them any more knowledge of delivery.

However having Marstar near by would be awesome, I have emailed them and they sell Mg42 receivers for $600, I always wondered why this board will not try another group buy. Yes Canada requires a 5-cut, but still if they demill it for you on the spot then that will save you quit a bit if you can tig weld.

As for paperwork....ugh that is another story.

I'm sure i could make my own mg42 out of the paperwork alone! If i can get that all dealt with and muster up some cash, i will definately try to get myself a kit from here, and parts from marstar.

added: Yes, i heard marstar has been a provider of many of these parts for the usa for many years (or thats just what they told me), so you could probably get a few things cheaper there, than from in the united states. However thats only useful if you live a decent distance from them, in my case, i am located at the coast of western canada, a fair distance away. However still within the same country, so no major borders to be passed.
