I bought this ZB-39 kit a long time ago from CFS and it's too nice not to use but since it's chambered in 8X56R and ammo is not that plentiful. What caliber could the barrel be re-chambered to shoot that is more plentiful or possibly "reline" the barrel in to a smaller diameter caliber? Just throwing some thoughts into the wind to see where it might take them.

Trade the barrel off to someone who wants that cal. The bore diameter is too large for most of the other 8mm so no rechambering to 7.92X57 or others. The barrels are hard enough to find that destroying that one just to shoot something else would be sad. You can use a standard bren barrel in 303 or convert one of them to 54R or something else. In fact, trading the whole kit off might be a better idea. There is brass and other components out there to load 8X56 and someone out there would love to have a proper ZB39 in 8x56.....
