Does anyone out there have a parts explosion diagram of a 1917A1 tripod? I'm especially interested in the parts comprising the pintle T&E mechanism. Sarco had a diagram listed on their web site at one time. But sadly, it is no longer there.

Unfortunately the Tech Manual has the parts spread out in parts index not grouped by the specific assembly but by items like rivets or screws. If you have a list of items (by number in the picture) you need to identify I can look them up.

These are not high res, but are the images from Sarco which I had downloaded for reference long ago. Just in case they are of use. Sadly, the nomenclature listing I didn't get, apparently.

Here is a list thrown together from what I could find in Figure 1-10 parts. Let me know if I missed any.

1. Nut elevating sleeve.
2.Stop Elevating Screw
3. Washer
4. Screw elevating
5. Screw Machine
6. Bushing
7. Nut elevating screw
8. Knob elevating
9. Scale elevating & Traversing
9a. Nut elevating & traversing
9b Pin elevating and traversing scale
9c. Body scale elevating & traversing mech
10. Ring elevating hand wheel
11. Key machine
12. Washer recessed
13. bushing sleeve elevating
14. Sleeve elevating screw
15. Set screw
16. Spring helical
17. Pin elevating & traversing click
18. Screw Cap hex hd
19. Washer Traverse lock
20. Key woodruff
21. Screw Traversing
22.Guide Elevating and Traverse
23. Body Elevating & Traverse

Sorry I forgot to mention that photo and information was found in Tech Manual 9-1005-212-35 (September 1965). You may be able to find this on line. It covers the M1919A4/A6 M1917A1 and tripods M2, M1917A1 and M74. The photo was Figure 1-10 page 72.

With the exploded views Lucky 13 has provided why don't you just give us the letter designations of the parts you are looking for. I don't think the names of the parts are going to make any difference at this point.

OK. Here goes. I was looking over my '17A1 tripod and noticed that there is a loose steel rod protruding from the center of "Part A". It's about 3" long with the diameter of a #2 lead pencil and is just flopping around doing nothing. That ain't right! The T&E works just fine. I'm trying to figure out what that part is and how to correct it.
