Don't ever mention to this guy that you even have knowledge of this site or dire things may await you.

He hates us.

This just keeps popping up, lol. Rich Hernandez, as has been noted by kkkriverrats and brassmagnet, wore out his welcome on this site more than ten years ago. As one of the targets of his ire, I can tell you he was banned by the then-site owner for his behavior on this forum, and that's why he is gone. Before that point, he was already banning some members of this forum from his own site, the forum portion of which is no longer active (so far as I know.) Most of us didn't have a beef with Rich, before he inexplicably turned on some of us, for reasons I could never get him to explain. He alienated many people here. That said, here is the important info about his products, and my guess is that this is mostly what you want to know.

Rich makes very innovative, high quality mount adapters. His ability is first rate. Several folks have tales about bad faith dealings with him, and others just say they have gotten product but that one has to be extremely patient sometimes. Others have had good experience dealing with him. What I would tell you, if you are looking at his products, is that you will be very satisfied with the hardware, so long as you are able to have a smooth transaction with him. I never tell anyone not to do business with him, merely to be aware of what some have experienced. But his workmanship is top notch, so if you can get it, you will do well.

I don't know him personally however, I have purchased several mounts and adapters directly from him and have always been very impressed with his work. Products were and are a work of art, designed with purpose and impeccably crafted the mounts were admired by all the shooters that checked them out and subsequently purchased by several of them as well. My experience has been with the adapters for the M2HB and several different mounts for the 1919's to include pedestal riser mounts that will support both the 1919 and the M2HB's equally well. The mounts themselves surpassed "military grade", and I've used them numerous times and they functioned as designed flawlessly. Items were packaged very well and shipped when promised arriving in a timely manner intact with not one issue and given that I'm on one coast and he is on the other I believe that has to say something. If I needed another custom mount I wouldn't hesitate to call him, tell him what I needed and expect to get another well made mount.

Disclaimer: I am just another shooter that needed custom mounts and am not related in any way to Rich nor do I work for him. If you get the opportunity to see his work you'll quickly realize the thought that went into it and the quality of the product.

I'd have to agree with the assessments. I also have no squabble with him - I actually helped him post pictures of his first works when he started out [per his request] and we never had any words or anything. I did get the "for unknown reason" boot from his web-forum back then too, but didn't really mind, and it was becoming a feud/war between members at that point. I have not heard many bad comments on his product at all......

I have one of Rich's mounts on my 1919A4 and on my M2HB.
Workmanship, quality and finish are superb and prices were very reasonable, however, delivery times were way beyond what was originally quoted.
If you understand that going in and are prepared to wait without complaining, then you'll have a fine product at a very reasonable price..........eventually!

Just bought a mount back in November in gunbroker. I did not receive it till February after being promised a 2 week lead time before ordering. Received every excuse in the book from sick with flue twice, temperature in his shop too hot, lots of rain, and powdercoating issues. Communication was always prompt just answers and shipping times became meaningless.

The mount is excellent and worth the money. I would order again.
