Hello Fella's, I still have to work on my post's counts in order to get my private message privleges back:rofl:. My question is and I do have my ATF paper work explaining the semi auto conversion, however is there a simple funtion check that can be preformed on the side of a parade route or at the renge if one of Cuomo's Henchmen show up? Thanks.

Yes . But it would require the bozoo who's bozoo'd enough to ask but not bozoo'd enough to not understand.
Open top plate and show that gun is cleared. Close cover . Rack bolt back and release. Pull trigger and hear hammer drop . Maintaining pull on the trigger , cycle bolt again. On full auto the firing pin would drop when the bolt closed. On a semi , it would not , and releasing the trigger now and repulling would allow you to hear the firing pin drop the second time .

Your average Cuomo henchman wont understand a functions test. Your best bet is to let them FIRE it. If you are at a range this will prove it. Now if the henchmen show up at your house....well then you have bigger problems and I doubt even a 'by the numbers' function test will appease them.

These are my experiences with NY law enforcement:
(Let me preface this post with the these experiences are from my FRIENDS, I harbor no ill will towards the general LEO community, but their lack of gun wits scare me)

I know NY LEO's who: told my Soldiers that hollow points are illegal. Told me that if they were ever called to my house, upon seeing my collection, would have me cuffed and stuffed in a car before even ASKING what it all was. Ive had LEO's tell me my pistol needs to be locked in a clear plastic box when I transport it. Ive had NY LEO's tell me they have no clue how their weapon works, thats for the SWAT guys....

I make it a point to inform them of the laws, and some of them have even called me for clarification before. Most of my cop friends are very receptive towards my explanations and really dont go after gun violations unless the guy they are dealing with is really being a a$$hole.

But its the disgruntled rogue cop who hates guns that scares me.

I'd print out the ATF letter and keep a copy with your gun at all times.. it would help any situation, if you have to show a LEO.. most cops will not be willing to either function check or fire it.. NOW NY ya may run into some problems.. as far as the new laws.. but I would not cut cops any slack, they need to know their jobs and know the laws backwards and forwards.. if they can't open a book and read the laws they should find another profession... their are flow charts and pictures and if they arrest someone and they have broken no laws.. it's false arrest and a possible law suit.. may cost them their job and the city a lot of money.. You planning on using it as a display piece at a parade?
My suggestion would be to take the bolt out and leave it back at home while your at said parade.
When I take my HMMWV out I don't travel with anything in the turret or in the doors that's not covered.
If I'm going to an event in a local city and will be displaying it with all the goodies on it I call the local police station or LEO that has jurisdiction and tell them ahead of time were I will be and at what time and why. I normally stop by in person with a few pictures and my contact info in advance and ask for the desk sergeant. I have asked for his card so I can call him if there is any confusion. If he will not be on duty during the event I ask him to put it in the daily brief or what ever they call it.
Proactive over reactive has served me well. (So Far)

At a range a function test as described by Emmagee above should suffice.
Having a copy of the ATF letter with you is a no brainer.

Two of my best friends are Troopers. Both say that NONE of the Troopers have any interest in enforcing these new laws and want nothing to do with them. I only hope that the rest of the boys in blue share their sentiment.....however Im sure results may vary.....
