We Replaced them with a couple of FAL springs.
Now it feeds and fires every time:):)
I bet Sean (SDK) remembers, I went through the earliest SAS springs, then the replacements collapsed with 25 rnds too, this is exactly how I fixed mine over a yr ago, and should last a very long time.

MJB,

You guys should get together, everyone exchange knowledge, can't go wrong there.

Sean,

You and I have ours running, granted it was a B*TCH along the way, what I'm wondering is either we need...

1: An official "board C-2" to help fix them, troublesome builds sent to this guy.

2: Find and start a list of RKIs (per area) to help owners, sorta like a build party, this could be networked and result in more RKIs along the way.

3: Devise some kind of (rental?) tooling and CDs/DVDs to help builders, something as well-detailed as the Catco Sten VHS long ago, surely you've seen that gem.

We see all those "build alignment jigs" for various firearms, I am unaware of one for the Sten, but know the Brits used them (60+ yrs ago) during builds. You know what jigs talking about, dedicated to SAS tube ID and adapters for other S/A builds IDs, one that goes in receiver (like a fake bolt) and into chamber, squares the trunnion too. Then one like a dummy mag, would lock into fake bolt to square the mag housing.

As the kits are vanishing, folks are talking about "reproduction parts kits" specifically for semi-auto builds, this would be all new US parts, and home-build people will need tooling, least the ones who don't have advanced skills, you know? :D
