that is how I would imagine it being legal as well. There is no legal requirement for how it feeds, delinker, mag, or box fed. The key is the electrical motor and thats the difference between a civil war gatling and an M134.

Make a new (or rewelded) housing that has a hand crank and isnt capable of bolting on a standard m134 motor, and you should be fine. But I would look into what it would take as far as torque to run the gun and delinker. May need a gearing system that would also lower your ROF.

Years ago, valkyrie arms (the ones who made questionable desilse carbines and other guns) had a prototype hand cranked minigun. It was either 556 or 762x51, don't remember exactly. They used to bring it to knob creek in the vendor area to advertise. When I saw it circa 2007 they said that the internals were not finished. So it was more of a mock up than a prototype. They were saying it would be $30k or $35k and said something like "10% or 20% the price of a minigun with 90% the fun"
